Bridge affiliate and paid media tracking

When traffic comes from paid ads, platforms like Google, Meta, and TikTok automatically attach unique click IDs to the URL.

Trackdesk captures these IDs on every tracked click and stores them alongside the conversion.

That means you can attribute conversions not just to affiliates, but also to the exact ad platform that generated the traffic — and pass that data downstream via postbacks.

It works automatically for both redirect and direct tracking. As long as the click ID is present in the URL, it gets captured and stored.

Affiliate and paid media usually live in separate worlds. This connects them.

Here’s what that unlocks:

✅ Track paid traffic inside affiliate flows
Capture gclid, fbclid, and ttclid on every click

✅ Send conversions back to ad platforms
Forward click IDs via postbacks for proper attribution

✅ Unify performance data
See how paid campaigns perform alongside affiliate activity

✅ Improve campaign optimization
Make decisions based on full-funnel data, not partial attribution

1. Enable your ad platform auto-tagging
Google, Meta, and TikTok automatically append click IDs to URLs.

2. Use Trackdesk tracking links or script
Click IDs are captured automatically on both redirect and direct tracking.

3. Verify in Click Reports
View captured IDs in the click report (type + value columns).

4. Pass IDs via Postbacks
Use gclid, fbclid, or ttclid in postbacks to forward data to external systems.
